Director, Portfolio Advancement @ Common Future

Andrea is an entrepreneur passionate about creating equitable access to capital and wealth. As Director of Portfolio Advancement, Andrea is responsible for the incubation of organizations focused on solving economic inequality in the U.S by leveraging strategic grantmaking, fiscal sponsorships and curated support. Before joining Common Future, Andrea was the Director of Economic Inequality Initiative at Uncharted where she led a 6 month accelerator program with 10 entrepreneurs.

Andrea previously worked at Techstars leading diversity, equity, & inclusion efforts across the Techstars Network of mentors and alumni. In 2013, Andrea, Co-Founded Revolar a 2015 & 2016 Techstars Accelerator company leveraging technology for good to keep our loved ones safe. They fundraised millions and were named as one of the first 15 Latinas to fundraise over $1M from VCs.

Director, Product Operations @ Basis Technologies

Jeff Smith has been in the technology industry for over 20 years, oscillating between management and individual contributor. Jeff currently serves as the Senior Director of Production Operations for Basis Technologies (formerly Centro), an advertising software company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Before that he served as the Manager of Site Reliability Engineering at Grubhub.

Jeff is passionate about DevOps transformations in organizations large and small, with a particular interest in the psychological aspects of problems in companies. He lives in Chicago with his wife Stephanie and their two kids Ella and Xander.

Senior Advisor, Promise Venture Studio + Birth Doula

Awara is a values-driven, strategic leader with experience in social entrepreneurship, strategy, business development, HR & talent management, and change management. She is deeply passionate about ending educational and health disparities for historically and systematically underserved communities. Awara has worked in a number of industries including early childhood development, education, healthcare and technology, and management consulting. She currently serves as a Senior Advisor at Promise Venture Studio alongside her work as a birth doula. Awara earned a BA in Government from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
